Adam Schneider is a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer, and has been an educator for over 13 years, and a technology enthusiast for most of his life. As a classroom teacher and technology coordinator, he utilized different teaching methodologies to address the various needs of his students. By incorporating technology into the classroom environment, he found that students became more engaged learners. This knowledge led him to begin delivering technology professional development to his colleagues, and from that beginning, his career as a professional developer has flourished. His strong focus with technology integration in the classroom has enabled him to effectively work with other educators to increase their confidence and ability to incorporate technology into their curriculum as well. In addition to being a classroom teacher, he has also filled the role of a Technology Coordinator at PS 7, a public elementary school in Brooklyn, NY; an Educational Technology Administrator at Democracy Prep Charter Schools, a Charter School Network (one High School and two Middle Schools) in Harlem, NY; and a Project Manager for eChalk, an educational technology company based in Manhattan, where he worked with teachers and administrators at schools (high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools) throughout the Northeast US. He is now the Instructional Technology Manager for Custom Computer Specialists, Inc., located in Hauppauge, NY. He manages the company’s Professional Development Group which works with schools and school districts in a coaching / mentoring capacity to identify, develop, and deliver professional development aligned with the Common Core Standards, focused on integrating educational technology in the curriculum. He has been conducting educational technology aligned professional development with educators for almost 11 years. He was previously the Senior Professional Developer at Custom Computer Specialists, Inc. His love for education and technology is evident by the passion and devotion he exhibits when developing and conducting professional development. He has presented at various conferences and events including ISTE 2013 (and will be presenting on Google Apps ePortfolios at ISTE 2014), NYSCATE Annual Conference 2012 (Google Apps Student ePortfolios), NYSCATE Hudson Valley Conferences 2012 & 2013 (Google Apps Student ePortfolios), multiple NYSCATE Professional Development workshops, Tech Forum NY 2012, PadCampLI 2011 (Google Apps Student ePortfolios), and Google in Education New York Summit 2013 (Google Apps Student ePortfolios), and will be presenting at Google in Education NY/NJ Summit 2014.
