Learn how Hillsborough (NJ) is successfully transforming the classroom through 1:1 technology integration of Nexus tablets (K-4) and Chromebooks (K-12) throughout all grades. Our goal is to enhance the learning environment while optimizing the opportunity for a value-added approach to globalization of the curriculum, asynchronous learning opportunities, and the creation, collaboration and publication of digital content. Our modeling of technology as an educational tool has transformed technology from something unique to an integrated part of the normal school learning and work environment.

All 2,800 of our K-4 students utilize a Google Nexus Android tablet. As an original Google Android for Education pilot district, teachers utilize the Android for Education tools for deploying specialized apps and enriching content to personalize student learning. We are also in the the midst of our four-year 1:1 device rollout whereby each of our 4,500 students in Grades 5-12 will receive a Chromebook for use in school and at home. With Google Apps as the centerpiece of the collaborative learning environment our teachers can transform their classrooms to offer relevant learning opportunities academically geared toward individual student needs.
